5 Things I (Thankfully) Never Did at BG
1. Do anyone’s personal errands
I know I’ve compared my internship to Andy Sachs from The Devil Wears Prada on this thing but I can say with great gratitude and certainty, that I never had do non-work related things for anyone while at BG. We are straight biznaz.
2. Get or make anyone coffee
This is partially a lie. I got coffee for someone (a freelancing stylist) once, but it was on my way to do something else AND she paid for me to get something too. And, as a chiquita living la vida poor, I almost jump at anyone’s generosity.
3. Stay really really late at night
Again, this is partially a lie. I’ve stayed late a few times but it was because I was jpartying (sortof) at one of the events we were hosting. The latest I ever got home was midnight and it was after the Louboutin cocktail party. Side note: the subway is a #dark place at night. Usually, I got home around 6:30pm, not bad at all.
4. Sit at a desk all the live-long day
When people ask me what I do all day, I usually respond with “either running around the office, running around the store, or running in-between the two”. And that’s the truth. This internship kept me on my feet, which as a sufferer of scoliosis (word), I definitely appreciated.
5. Not see the sunlight
There are serious horror intern stories that I’ve heard through the grapevine so I praise the BG Lord that I was usually able to take an hour lunch break in da sun and get outside much more often than my bosses, or likely anyone in the office come to think of it.
